CADET ASSISTANT SIGNALS INSTRUCTOR

In addition to the syllabus of the cadet signaller, the Cadet Assistant Signals Instructor (CASI) will have covered PRC 320, the Test Kit Condition (TKC), antenna theory and practical HF antennas, and generators. Conversance with, and the ability to instruct in, all of these subjects will require to be demonstrated.
Aim
The CASI should be capable of instructing cadets up to the standard required to enable cadets to take the Cadet Signals Classification Test.
Syllabus
Essentially, a CASI is required to teach cadets up to the basic signals classification standard. However, he should also cover syllabus items extra to the cadet signaller's syllabus to ensure that the instructor has a more in-depth and more rounded knowledge of cadet signalling as a whole.
Mandatory Requirements
- Has achieved a good pass on the Signals Classification test.
- Has passed a Methods of Instruction (MoI) course.
- Has a good working knowledge of:
- Clansman Test Kit Condition
- Generators
- Battery charging
Prefererred Requirements
- Should be a NCO.
- Has attended the Post-Signals Classification course at The Royal School of Signals, Blandford.
- Has a good working knowledge of the National Radio Net (NRN).
