DON 10 CABLE

The Corps Colours

The make-up of a single conductor of D10 D10 consists of a twisted pair of conductors used for general-purpose field speech communications and remote control lines for radio net. Each conductor consists of 4 cooper wires and 3 galvanised steel wires stranded together and insulated with black nylon covered in a polyethene outer sheath. The essential difference between D10 and other types of field cable, in so far as laying is concerned, is that D10 is contained in a dispenser pack; other field cables are wound on wooden drums. D10 can therefore be laid more rapidly and by hand. The dispenser pack holds the the same amount as a wooden drum. D10 can however be laid from a drum if required.
