The make-up of a Lightweight Quad Lightweight Quad consists of 2 white and 2 black conductors inside a clear polyethylene inner sheath, which in turn is protected by a PVC outer sheath. All 4 conductors also consist of 4 copper and 3 galvanised steel strands, the same as D10. This cable comes on wooden drums containing 400m of cable and weighing 30kg. This cable cannot be laid by hand, the equipment for laying the cable is called an Apparatus cable Laying (ACL), this is designed for paying out and recovering the field cable. You can use this equipment either on ground or on the back of a small army vehicle, which is designed to carry it. However you always need to people two operate this equipment.
